RA of the Month: March

Congratulations to Ms. Annalee Mueck for being named the West Area RA of the Month for the month of March! Let's see what Annalee's nominator, Amy Gardner, had to say about her:

"Since the first day of move-in back in August, Annalee has shown that she can build an exceptional community on her floor. Her welcoming smile and genuine interest in the lives of her residents allowed them to quickly warm up to her. Annalee built upon the foundation she created in the early weeks of the school year and started programming for her residents' needs. Community builders full of diversity, culture, socials, desserts, and much more would bring her residents out of their rooms to meet one another.

The strength of her community is easily seen by her residents and fellow staff members. Annalee knows every single one of her residents by name and where they are from including their interests. Residents often describe her as genuine, upbeat, hospitable, down-to-earth, and a positive role model. Annalee’s programs are always student centered and created around their vision; programs such as Harry Potter marathons, sex education, culture nights, drug and alcohol safety, and even week long programs like “Roommate Appreciation Week.”

Having a place to go that is warm and always receiving visitors is sometimes rare to find away from home, but Annalee has truly provided a place of fellowship on her floor and in her RA room. Programming is important in building a community but so is supporting your residents in their endeavors and being a listening ear when they need you. Annalee constantly goes to her residents’ performances, athletic events, and competitions.

Positivity is something that Annalee brings with her everywhere, when she is at the front desk, she welcomes every resident as if they were her own in order to give them the best customer service possible. Being one of her supervisors is such a blessing and I can’t wait to see where she goes from here!"
